Grocery digital signage

Grocery digital signage for supermarkets, specialty grocers, and c-store hybrids.

Produce endcaps, deli queue boards, meat and seafood case toppers, pharmacy queue management, front-end loyalty screens, and curbside-pickup wayfinding — one CrownTV Dashboard runs every aisle and every department, across one store or the entire chain.

What is grocery digital signage?

Grocery digital signage is a network of commercial-grade displays installed throughout a supermarket, specialty grocer, or c-store hybrid — covering produce-department endcaps with daily specials and recipe inspiration, deli queue boards, meat and seafood case toppers and shelf-edge displays, pharmacy queue management with vaccine and wellness program promos, front-end loyalty enrollment screens, and curbside-pickup wayfinding for the parking lot. Content updates from one CrownTV Dashboard across one store or the entire chain — department playlists, scheduled pricing graphics, and weekly promotional cycles. CrownTV ships humidity-rated commercial panels for produce and refrigerated-case zones, sealed industrial enclosures for meat/seafood, and outdoor weather-ready outdoor displays IP56 for curbside-pickup wayfinding — all under one contract, with franchise-scoped Dashboard permissions for regional chains.

The problem

Grocery is the highest-density signage opportunity in retail — every aisle, every department, every checkout — and almost nobody runs it from one platform. Printed posters fade in produce humidity. Prices and promos change faster than dry-erase boards. The deli queue is still a paper sign-up sheet. Pharmacy comms live on a corkboard. CrownTV ships the displays, the install, and the Dashboard so every screen in the store updates from one schedule — across full-service supermarkets, ethnic specialty grocers, c-store hybrids, organic and health-food chains, and curbside-pickup networks.

Frequently asked

Grocery signage — FAQ

What is grocery digital signage?
Grocery digital signage is a network of commercial-grade displays installed across produce, deli, meat/seafood, dairy, pharmacy, and front-end departments — replacing printed promo posters and dry-erase price boards with networked screens that update from one Dashboard. Typical installs cover 12–40 displays per store: 4–8 produce endcaps, 2 deli queue boards, 6–12 meat/seafood case toppers and shelf-edge displays, 2–4 pharmacy queue/wellness screens, 4–8 front-end loyalty screens, and 1–2 outdoor curbside-pickup wayfinding panels.
How much does grocery digital signage cost?
Hardware ranges: ~$700 for a 32" pharmacy queue panel, $1,200–$2,500 for a 55" produce endcap or front-end loyalty screen, $2,500–$4,500 for a deli queue board, $1,500–$3,500 for an weather-ready outdoor displays IP56 outdoor curbside-pickup panel. Plus the CrownTV Media Player ($300–$800) and Dashboard SaaS ($20/screen/month). A typical 20-display single-store grocery launch lands $30,000–$60,000 hardware + install + first-year SaaS. Multi-store chain rollouts get volume pricing — and we'll match any signed competitive quote on comparable scope.
Can shelf-edge pricing be updated from the Dashboard?
Yes. Your team can update shelf-edge and aisle-endcap pricing graphics from the CrownTV Dashboard and schedule changes by department, store, or region. Custom imports can be scoped separately when your team already has an approved content source.
Can the deli queue board show now-serving numbers?
Yes. The screen can show now-serving numbers, pickup instructions, and product spotlights using Dashboard-managed templates. Automated ticket-system feeds are not part of the standard package and would need separate scoping.
What about humidity and refrigeration in produce and meat departments?
Different hardware per environment. Produce-department endcaps use heat- and humidity-rated commercial panels (heat- and humidity-rated commercial panels) with sealed mounts. Meat/seafood case toppers and shelf-edge displays inside refrigerated cases use sealed industrial units rated for the case environment (typically 32–45°F). Outdoor curbside-pickup wayfinding uses weather-ready outdoor IP56 displays with industrial enclosures.
How long does a multi-store grocery rollout take?
Single store: under one week from site survey to live screens. Chain rollouts run in batches of 5–15 stores per week, sequenced with the customer's remodel or new-store calendar. Multi-state regional supermarket chains typically complete a 50-store rollout in one quarter.
Will my IT team need to be involved?
Minimal. The CrownTV Media Player connects via HDMI and ethernet to the store network. No on-site server, no software installed on register or back-office machines, no separate VLAN required. Your IT team typically signs off once on the network port and SSO scope.
Who are the leading grocery digital signage companies?
The grocery digital signage market splits into three groups. Software-only platforms — Yodeck, ScreenCloud, OptiSigns — sell the CMS and leave hardware procurement, install, and content design to the customer (or to a separate AV reseller). Display resellers — Stratacache, Almo Pro — ship commercial display panels but do not run the software or content. Turnkey operators — CrownTV — bundle commercial-grade humidity-rated commercial displays, the Dashboard, the install crew, and the content design under one contract, with US-based 24/7 support. The category split matters most on multi-store rollouts: software-only platforms ship a license; we ship a working storefront.
