What is a commercial display? +
A commercial display is a digital display screen rated for continuous duty in a public or business environment — 16/7 or 24/7 operating cycle, 500–4,000+ nits brightness, slim bezels for video walls, color calibration that holds across a commercial warranty, and a manufacturer warranty that applies in business use. Consumer TVs are rated for 4–6 hours of viewing daily and explicitly exclude commercial install from their warranty terms. CrownTV ships commercial displays by function: indoor 4K, high-brightness window, weather-ready outdoor, and bezel-thin video-wall hardware.
What is the difference between commercial and consumer displays? +
Three things change. Duty cycle: commercial 16/7 or 24/7 vs. consumer 4–6 hours daily. Brightness: commercial 500–4,000 nits vs. consumer 200–350. Warranty: commercial 3-year that applies in retail and corporate use vs. consumer 1-year limited that voids the moment the panel runs commercially. Plus the commercial panel ships with anti-glare coating, slim bezels for video walls, portrait-or-landscape mounting, color calibration, and pairs with a dedicated media player so smart-TV firmware never gets in front of your content.
Do commercial displays come in 4K? +
Yes. Indoor commercial displays, storefront window displays, outdoor displays, and video-wall tiles all come in 4K UHD options. Every commercial 4K display we ship is rated for the duty cycle of the environment — 16/7 for typical indoor retail and office installs, 24/7 for window-facing and outdoor placements — and pairs with the CrownTV media player and Dashboard CMS.
How much does a commercial display cost? +
Per-screen, all-in (panel, mount, CrownTV media player, install, training, electrical, and one year of CMS): indoor 4K from $3,200 for a 32-inch screen to $19,600 for a 98-inch screen; high-brightness 46/55-inch window displays at $3,850–$5,500; 65/75-inch window displays at $4,500–$9,500; outdoor weather-ready displays at $6,500–$12,500; hybrid flagship video walls at $10,000–$15,000+ per tile. Software-only after year one is $20 per screen per month. Multi-store rollouts get volume pricing at 5+ units. See /pricing/ for the full breakdown.
Can I use a commercial display in a storefront window? +
Yes — but only when the screen is bright enough for the glass and sun exposure. Behind-glass storefronts usually need 2,500–3,000 nits; exposed exterior placements need weather protection and often 4,000+ nits. A standard 500-nit indoor commercial display washes out behind glass within an hour of direct sun. Our site survey picks the display based on glass type, sun exposure, cavity heat, weather exposure, and visibility angle.
Do you handle the display warranty? +
Yes. Every commercial display ships with manufacturer commercial warranty coverage. If a panel fails inside the warranty window, we coordinate the claim on your behalf. During an active CrownTV service contract we also keep the media-player replacement path fast and coordinate field work so the screen does not sit dark while paperwork moves.
